About IFLA

The Institute of Finance Leaders of the Americas is a non-profit organization incorporated in the state of Illinois.  IFLA seeks to provide a unique opportunity to Latin American youth by introducing them to the world of finance. Our goal is raise awareness on financial services, encourage the pursuit of formal finance education and instill strong leadership traits in our participants, so that they can become future leaders in the global finance arena.   Furthermore, IFLA will promote the development of finance courses and curriculums at the undergraduate and high school levels in the community we will serve. 

Mission

IFLA’s mission is to educate Latin American youth on capital and financial markets; while developing leadership skills within its participants to feed talented professionals into the field of finance.  IFLA will proactively broaden its approach to supporting its mission and its participants.

Vision

IFLA’s vision is to serve as a premiere institution for introducing Latin American students to the principles of finance and the development of professional leadership skills. 

Executive Board


Chair-Leimer Tejeda


Leimer is the founder for the Institute of Finance Leaders of the Americas. She is a recent graduate of the University of Maryland at College Park with a dual degree in International Business & Spanish Literature.  Currently, she is part of the Operations Analyst Program at Goldman Sachs & Co. where she works in the trade management team in Chicago, IL.

Co-Chair & Treasurer- Maryann Meza


Maryann graduated Magna Cum Laude and with Honors with a degree in History and a degree in Philosophy from West Virginia University in 2008. Currently she is pursuing a Masters degree in Public Administration with a Certificate in Non-Profit Management.

Secretary - Elizabeth del Valle


Elizabeth is currently a senior at the Rochester Institute of Technology pursuing a degree in International Business/Marketing and International Relations. She is a student leader with a global vision; she has been able to develop leadership skills in global programs such as the Global Leadership Program in Prague and by founding the Model United Nations on her campus as well as a scholar for the McNair scholar Program at RIT.

Fundraising Chair- William Collins


Will graduated from the University of Maryland, at College Park with a B.A. in Spanish Literature.  He now works for Cisco Systems as an Account Manager supporting the operations of European clients in the U.S. Cisco is an Internet networking and communications company that provides the equipment and services that build communication over computer networks.

Public Relations Chair- Emilio Javier


Emilio graduated in May 2007 from Fairleigh Dickinson University, with a B.A. in Communication Studies and a double minor in Political Science and Spanish.  He is currently pursuing a Masters degree in Corporate and Organizational Communication and is scheduled to complete his studies in May, 2009. Emilio has a special interest in promoting and educating others of the rich Latino Culture through various interactive and social programs.

Program Development Chair-Whitney Terrill


Whitney
Terrill is honored to serve on the IFLA Executive Board as Program Development Chair.  Her enthusiasm for financial literacy and passion for education contribute to a board-wide effort to develop an outstanding inaugural institute.  Contributing to one's community is central to her idea of success.  In addition to her service with IFLA, she is involved in immigrant transition groups and youth mentorship in New York City.  Whitney is currently an Analyst at Goldman Sachs.  She is a proud graduate of Hampton University.  She currently resides in New York City.
